our accommodation

We offer two huts, each with a double bed, that can be booked singularly or together for a group of four. The huts are in separate fields for privacy but close enough to be sociable if booking for both huts.

Each has an outside seating area with fire bowl/BBQ for all your adventurous outdoor cooking or for keeping warm under the stars.  You can enjoy distant views from the Meadow hut to the Black Mountains and views across mature oak woodland from Hawthorn hut.

The Meadow hut has a separate stone barn kitchen, while the Hawthorn hut has a kitchen in a converted horse box.

The Ty-Bach with WC, heated towel rail, and electric shower is approximately 50 metres from each hut and is shared between the huts.

You will find the Shepherd's Huts comfortably furnished with a dresser, table, chairs, wall lights, fairy lights & a wood burner for cosy nights or boiling the kettle/light cooking.

Sorry we don't accept pets due to nearby livestock and the compact nature of the accommodation.

Explore

You can explore the smallholding at your leisure making sure all gates are closed behind you. Picnic in the wild flower meadows, walk through the temperate rainforest of alder, ash, hazel, oak, hawthorn, maple and rowan. Many oaks are festooned with polypody ferns, lichens, mosses and liverworts. Walk the stream looking out for White Clawed crayfish.

Walk

There are walks right from the huts along an ancient sunken holloway up onto Llandefalle Common where skylarks sing and mountain ponies graze with views across the Black Mountains, Brecon Beacons and Carmarthenshire Fans. A circular route takes you along lanes and back through the old routeway to the farm.

Eat

During periods of glut we often have fruit, vegetables and eggs for sale from our kitchen garden, orchard and menagerie of poultry.

For the adventurous an hour long, 2.5 mile, walk, along fields and lanes takes you to our local, the award winning Griffin at Felinfach - a 12 minute drive away.
